18 thatched cabins on 9 acres at Palatupana, between the Indian Ocean and the scrub jungle on the edge of Yala National Park.

Every cabin is 1,600 sq ft with its own plunge pool and deck, and the main building opens onto the dunes and the sea.

Block 1 of the park is 12 km away and Block 5 20 km; the house runs safaris in Yala, Bundala and Udawalawe, and bush walks from the property.

Good to know

  • Each cabin takes up to 2 children, and the house runs a Junior Ranger Programme.
  • Yala National Park closes Blocks 1 and 2 for part of each dry season, usually for about a month from September, with dates set each year; safaris then run in other blocks or at Lunugamvehera.
