1.In brief
Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them. Everything else this site stores on your device either makes the site work or remembers a choice you made, and none of it is used for advertising. You can change your choice here at any time, or with Cookie settings at the foot of any page (in the app on a phone, in Me).
2.What we store, in full
A cookie is a small file a website keeps in your browser; local storage is a similar store that stays on your device and is never sent to us unless you send it. This is everything this site stores.

- Purpose
- Keeps the journey you build in Explore on your device, including one you open there from an assistant with Plan it in Ceylon Envoy.

ce-explore-guide

- Purpose
- Remembers that you have been offered Explore’s step-by-step guide, so its invitation does not open on every visit. While your journey has no place yet, it also keeps the dates, party and budget you have given, so they are still there when you come back.

- Until you clear your browser’s data. The dates, party and budget are kept only while your journey has no place, and go when you sign out or start completely over; dates that have passed are dropped.
ce-envoy-width

- Purpose
- On a computer, remembers where you put the line between Ask the Envoy’s conversation and its map, so it opens that way.

- 12 months, or until you put the line back.
ce-planner-width
- Type

- Purpose
- On a computer, remembers how wide you made Explore’s trip planner, so it opens at that width.
- Kept for
- 12 months, or until you put it back to its own width.
ce-proposal
- Type
- Cookie, secure, not readable by scripts
- Purpose
- Keeps a private proposal open after you enter its key. It holds the proposal’s address and a signature, nothing else.
- Kept for
- 30 days.
ce-session
- Type
- Local storage
- Purpose
- Keeps you signed in to your account, once you have signed in.
- Kept for
- Until you sign out, and no more than 30 days without a visit.
ce-session-code-verifier
- Type

- Purpose
- A one-time code for signing in with Google, which proves that Google’s answer came back to the browser that asked for it.
- Kept for
- Removed when you finish signing in; if you leave it unfinished, until you next sign in with Google.
ce-companion
- Type

- Purpose
- Only once you have accepted a trip’s plan: a copy of that trip as the app shows it, so it opens without a signal. Each day’s plan and pickup, your hotels with their numbers, your envoy’s first name, picture and number, and your chauffeur’s name and number.

- Registered when you open the app (Explore, Trips, Messages or Me). It lets the app go on your home screen and shows the notifications you turn on. It stores nothing.

- Service worker, for your account’s screens only
- Purpose
- Only once you have accepted a trip’s plan: it keeps the app’s screens (Trips, Today, Messages, Me and your plan), and the pictures and files they use, so they open without a signal (the cache ce-offline-v1). It holds no trip of yours: that is ce-companion.

- Until you sign out, which removes it and what it kept.
Notification subscription

- Push subscription, kept by your browser
- Purpose
- Only if you turn notifications on in Me: an address from your browser’s own notification service, so we can tell this device when your plan is ready, when we reply, when someone joins your trip, when something about a trip you have accepted changes, and, on the trip, each morning’s plan. We keep the same address with your account.

- Until you turn notifications off, or delete your account.
Analytics, only if you accept

- Tells one visitor’s visits apart from another’s, without knowing who they are.

3.Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is read: which pages, how visitors arrive, and what leads them to get in touch. If you accept, it sets the 2 cookies above. Accepting allows analytics and nothing else: Google’s advertising features are switched off for this site.
Before you choose, and if you decline, no analytics cookie or identifier is set. Google receives only cookieless signals that a page was viewed or an action taken, such as sending a form, which it uses to estimate totals. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services.
4.Other websites
Some pictures load straight from other websites: hotels’ own sites, Wikimedia Commons, vehicle makers’ press sites, wsrv.nl, a service that resizes images, and, once you sign in with Google, your own profile picture from Google. On a booked trip, the picture of the person arranging it loads from our database provider, Supabase, or from Google when that is the picture they chose. When your browser fetches a picture, that site receives your IP address and browser details, as any website does, and may set its own cookies under its own policy. We ask browsers not to tell those sites which of our pages you are reading.
Links to Booking.com, hotels’ own sites and WhatsApp take you to those services, whose own policies then apply. A Booking.com link carries the dates and party size you chose, so that it opens on them.
5.Changing your choice
Use Cookie settings at the foot of any page (in the app on a phone, in Me), or the button at the top of this one. Declining after accepting stops analytics from that moment. You can also delete cookies and local storage in your browser’s settings; if you do, we ask again on your next visit.
