A 1930 townhouse built for Dr Lucian de Zilwa, later the Bandaranaike family home, and a hotel of 10 suites since it was leased to the designer Udayshanth Fernando in 2005.

The house is furnished to Fernando's designs and has been featured by Architectural Digest and National Geographic; it hosted the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, now King Charles III and Queen Camilla, during the 2013 Commonwealth summit.

A lap pool sits in a walled courtyard, and meals are taken in a creeper-walled alfresco courtyard, a formal dining room, a red-walled bar and a library for private dinners.
