A 1920s tea planter's bungalow with 5 bedrooms on the Demodara Estate, above the loop where the railway circles a hill before Demodara station.

Teardrop Hotels restored it from 2018, adding French windows, a bathtub in every room and an infinity pool, and runs it all-inclusive with butlers.

The name comes from the Nine Arch Bridge nearby, known locally as Ahas Navaya, and the Pekoe Trail passes 250 metres from the gate.

Good to know

  • All-inclusive when booked direct: every meal, house wine, beer and spirits, tea and coffee, and laundry.
  • Children of all ages are welcome; the suite's sitting room converts to a children's room and 1 Demodera Bedroom connects to the twin room.
  • Tea factory visits run 09:00 to 15:00 and not on Sundays, public holidays or estate holidays.
  • Demodara station is a 10-minute walk away; Colombo is about 5 hours by road.
