14 stand-alone pool villas on a forested hilltop a short tuk-tuk ride inland from Weligama Bay, facing either the ocean or paddy fields and a wetland.

It was conceived by Dominic Scriven and the Australian designer Lawson Johnston, who also developed Mango Bay on Phu Quoc in Vietnam; Johnston spent 10 years on the design, with Moorish details, handmade terracotta tiles and reclaimed timber.

A 35-metre salt-water infinity pool, the Hill House restaurant and a 10-metre bar sit at the top of the hill, and a free shuttle takes guests to the hotel's beach shack at Mirissa.
