A small, all-inclusive tented camp of 6 air-conditioned tents in the buffer zone of Wilpattu, Sri Lanka's largest national park, run by the safari company Leopard Trails.

Stays are built around 2 shared game drives a day, at dawn and before sunset, looking for leopard and sloth bear, with meals, drinks and snacks on the drives included.

Meals are mostly Sri Lankan and cooked in a canvas field kitchen, and are served under the stars, in the dining tent or by the campfire.

Good to know

  • All-inclusive, with 1 morning and 1 evening shared game drive for each night; lunch is served on arrival and the first drive leaves at about 14:30.
  • Guests are collected from a set pickup point at 13:00; drivers and guides cannot stay at the camp.
  • Children are welcome and share their parents' tent; those aged 6 to 11 take an extra bed.
  • Phone signal is patchy and there is no reliable internet.
  • Travel insurance is compulsory.
