9 rooms on an 80-acre forested estate at Koslanda, below Haputale, built in traditional Sri Lankan style by local craftsmen to a design by the architect Channa Daswatte.

It was the plan of the film director Manik Sandrasagra and was completed by his wife Lucy in 2012; an infinity pool sits above paddy fields and a 35-minute forest walk leads to the estate's own waterfall and swimming hole.

Rooms range from villa suites with walled courtyards and plunge pools to open-sided forest pavilions built out over the hillside among the treetops.
