Two coasts, year-round wave

The room

Sri Lanka offers year-round wave access across two coasts. From the gentle beginner breaks of Weligama to the world-class right-handers of Arugam Bay, the water here is rarely still and always inviting.

Two coasts, two seasons. The south runs from November to April — Weligama's whitewater for the first board, Midigama's reefs (Lazy Left, Ram's, Plantation) for the intermediate, Ahangama's Plantation Point and the near-perfect cove at Hiriketiya for the longboard hour, Hikkaduwa for the after-school crowd. The east runs from May to October — Arugam Bay's main point peels for half a kilometre, and the Pottuvil cluster (Whisky Point, Peanut Farm, Elephant Rock, Crocodile Rock) holds clean water on a dropping tide.

A board sized for you. A coach who has watched this bay since he was a boy. We send you out at the hour the wind drops. Kalpitiya in the dry season carries the kite; Mirissa carries the longboarders. Your envoy reads the swell forecast each morning and chooses the bay before breakfast.
